New geochemical data for back-arc basin basalts from DSDP Leg 58 Sites 442-444 and ODP Leg 131 Site 808, Shikoku Basin

Summary: Back-arc basin basalts from Shikoku Basin were recovered at DSDP Leg 58 Sites 442-444 and ODP Leg 131 Site 808. The geochemistry of these volcanic rocks was initially reported soon after their recovery (from the 1980s to the early 1990s), and therefore many of these data suffered from limits of accuracy inherent in data at the time. We reanalyzed archived samples of Sites 442-444 and 808 using recent analytical techniques of XRF and ICP-MS and reported these highly accurate results herein.
